| The Glenshire Civic Association became a major owner late in 1995. It is the responsibility of the civic association and all the homeowners in Glenshire to Maintain over 16 acres of common areas, including three entrance ways, within our community. The civic association contracts with a landscape company to maintain the following: Area 1 - Harmon Road entrance and along Harmon Road Area 2 - Gazebo Commons at Waterton and Timberbank Circle Area 3 - Along the creek and path from S.R. 204 to foot of Wellesley Dr. Area 4 - Waterton Drive entrance; West along S.R. 204 Area 5 - Waterton Drive entrance; East to Lot 204 Area 6 - Sandover Park - between Sandover Place & creek Area 7 - Wellesley Drive entrance Civic association dues for each Glenshire homeowner (all homeowners are automatically members of the civic association and entitled to one vote per lot) are set annually at the Annual General Meeting in the fourth quarter. The dues for the 2005 year is $205. A major portion of the dues is used to meet our responsibility to maintain the 16 acres deeded to the civic association from the developer as specified in the zoning plan approved in Violet Township in the early 1990's. In addition, the civic association is responsible for enforcing deed restrictions. All exterior home improvements such as additions to existing structures, fences, decks or other proposed construction must receive the approval of the Architectural Review Committee prior to initiating construction. Call one of the committee members to obtain the procedure for approval. The association publishes notices of meetings and reports minutes of the general meetings in its newsleter, The Glen. At the Annual General Meeting, the dues are approved for the upcoming year and officers elected for two year terms. Elections are staggered with the President, VP, and Secretary in one year and the Treasurer and Newsletter/Directory in the alternate years. Other meetings and events are held periodically throughout the year. Notice Signs are posted at the entrances during the week before the meeting. The Glenshire Civic Association has eight active standing committees. Committee membership is voluntary and always welcome. |
